19th January, Karachi: Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Center (JPMC) conducted its 52nd Annual Medical Symposium from 16th– 19th January 2017 based on the theme ‘Prevention is better than Cure’.
The dental faculty of Bahria University Medical and Dental College (BUMDC) participated in the scientific session on dentistry which was held on the 3rd day of symposium, 18th January 2017, in the Radiology Auditorium.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Memon, Head of the Department of Periodontology, was invited as Co-Chairman. He had served JPMC as the head of its dental section from 1987-2009.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulsoom Fatima Rizvi , Vice Principal of Dental Section and Head of the Department of Community Dentistry, was invited to give a lecture on Clinical Governance. She received a memento shield from Chairman of the session, Prof. Dr. S. M. Kefi Iqbal, Dean of Jinnah Sind Medical College.
In the oral presentations, Dr. Hira Raza , Senior Lecturer from Department of Oral Biology , shared the winning shield with Dr. Ramsha Saeed from JPMC. Dr. Hira presented her research paper on Hepatitis B Vaccination Status among Dental Students and Professionals.
BUMDC continues to support and motivate its faculty in continuing dental education and undertaking research projects for maximizing career opportunities.
