BUDH
Bahria University Dental Hospital is able to maintain a running Out patient Department (OPD) since its establishment. The dental OPD consists of different departments headed by respective specialists providing primary to tertiary dental care. Dental treatment is free with the exception of some procedures, which are offered on subsidized rates. The treatment is provided in a relaxing environment to aid the patient in overcoming therapeutic doubts as well as fear of dental treatment. Within six months of service, more than 4,000 patients have been treated successfully at the new campus. The total number of patients so far seen is nearly 7,000.
In the Oral and Maxillofacial Department (OMFS), simple and complicated oral procedures including extractions, impactions, alveoloplasty and biopsies are being performed under local anesthesia.
A dedicated ten-bedded facility at PNS Shifa supports the OMFS department BUMDC, where an operation theater along with other medical and surgical specialties for major and complicated oral-maxillo-facial surgical procedures under general anesthesia are available.
PNS Shifa dental department has a dedicated area for training of undergraduates equipped with dental chairs with a teaching area.
The department of operative dentistry caters to patients requiring cosmetic, restorative, preventive, endodontic and paedodontic treatments.
In the Prosthodontics department, missing teeth are replaced with removable as well as fixed prosthesis encompassing dentures, overdentures, overlay dentures, obturators, crowns and different variety of bridges. In the Periodontology department, scaling, polishing, curettage and root planning are carried out successfully.
Skeletal and dental discrepancies are corrected by functional/ fixed/ removable appliances by undertaking advanced materials and techniques in yet another field of dentistry, Orthodontics.
