Director General

I am truly honored and delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of Bahria University (BU) that is endowed with a Strategic Vision of promoting Higher Education through Quality Research, and an underlying Mission of serving Pakistan by nurturing its human capital.

The vision of BU is ‘to become an internationally recognized university that contributes towards development of nation through excellence in education and research’. BU is ranked as the fifth top university among all universities in Pakistan and holds the second position among federally chartered universities. BUHSC-K, a part of BU, embarked on its academic venture in 2008 solely with BU Medical College (BUMC). Over time, BUHSC (K) made remarkable progress and established five additional colleges within its premises, namely BU Dental College (BUDC) in 2012, Pakistan Navy Nursing College as a subunit of BU in 2017, BU College of Physical Therapy (BUCPT) in 2017, BU College of Allied Health Sciences (BUAHS) in 2018, and BU Post-graduate College in 2022. The transformation of BU Medical College into Bahria University Health Sciences within a span of just 10 years would have seemed implausible without the unwavering efforts, support, and dedication of its staff, students, and faculty.

BUHSC(K) fosters the growth of a conducive and disciplined learning environment, which in turn leads to an increased number of high-quality healthcare professionals. The institution also actively promotes the development of healthcare facilities and offers comprehensive training programs that encompass multiple disciplines, thereby enhancing the capabilities of both graduates and postgraduates. Our undergraduate and graduate programs have been meticulously designed to offer comprehensive training in cutting-edge research methodologies and emerging fields of interest within the health sciences. Students from Pakistan and various parts of the globe choose to pursue their studies in our programs, aiming to become trailblazers in health sciences research.

PNS SHIFA, our affiliated hospital, is a prestigious 1000-bed facility. Established in 1953, it holds the distinction of being the oldest hospital of the Pakistan Navy in Pakistan. The hospital serves as a training ground for various healthcare disciplines, with a dedicated and highly competent faculty overseeing the process. The environment at PNS SHIFA fosters conducive learning, providing students with hands-on medical and paramedical skills training. This comprehensive approach equips students with the confidence to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Our primary objective is to enhance access to essential healthcare services by producing skilled and proficient healthcare professionals. Additionally, we strive to connect global and diverse community groups, without any form of discrimination, to the resources provided by Bahria University through its various health professions training programs.

We appreciate your visit to our website and assure you that our team of highly accomplished faculty and administrative staff are readily available to address any queries or concerns regarding the programs outlined here. We value your feedback and suggestions, and look forward to hearing from you.
