Topic Brief Description:
Online learning and teaching activities are transforming the education and training processes, by leveraging the high-speed Internet and modern computing devices. Learners and teachers are also experiencing the MOOC Systems provided by leading world-class Higher Iducation institutions (HEIs). Today every mainstream HEI is adopting online learning or blended learning approaches, as this is the best possible way to offer quality education at an affordable cost to learners worldwide. Online education is also leveraging Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning to maximize its share in the education sector.
Keeping in view the transformation process, our proposed research work is aimed at the three objectives. First, it will analyze the existing Artificial Intelligence (AI) based services being used in online educational platforms. Second, the research study will identify the best practices of AI and Machine Learning, that are used to facilitate various educational processes. Third, the research effort will provide specifications to design an AI-based Decision Support System (DSS) for emerging online education.
The proposed research methodology has six steps to be followed.
- Review of the related literature and data collection
- Identification of the AI-based services being used to facilitate various educational processes
- Analysis of the AI-based services for selection of the best practices
- Design specification of the intended Artificial Intelligence-based DSS
- Benchmarking of the design of the proposed DSS
- Reporting the research findings
The proposed research will have the following substantial outcomes:
- Identification of the best practices in the use of AI-based services, for maximizing effectiveness of the online education
- Design specification of the proposed AI-based DSS
- Minimum one research publication in well-reputed Journal
Overall the research outcome shall catalyze online education to maximize impact in the progress of the society and worldwide.
Research Objectives/Deliverables:
- To critically review Artificial Intelligence-based services used in online learning and testing systems.
- To Identify the best practices of Artificial Intelligence-based Decision Support Systems (DSS).
- To design the specification of an Artificial Intelligence based Decision Support System for online learning and testing system.
Research Questions:
- How will the identification of best practices be achieved for an AI-Based DSS? A critical review and data collection of the existing Artificial Intelligence-based services currently used by online learning and testing systems.
- How will the design specification be achieved of AI-Based DSS? Analysis of the AI-Based services would help in identifying the best practices to produce the design specifications of the intended Decision Support System (DSS).
Candidate’s Eligibility Profile:
- The applicant must have an MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree in Computer Science with CGPA >0. Besides, applicants must have a strong background in Data Mining, Rule Based System and Decision Support System, Online Learning and Testing theory and related fields.
- Experience with programming languages such as Structured Query Language, Python is advantageous. Candidates should thrive in an international environment and have excellent communication skills to actively contribute to team research efforts.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. We value independence and responsibility while promoting teamwork and collaboration among colleagues.
