Welcome to the Bahria University Law School
I am honored to serve as the Dean of a law school whose rich history of distinction in legal education is rooted in progressive thinking, focus on practical advocacy skills and excellence in teaching. Student success is our top priority. Our motto is simple: We provide our students with a high-quality and affordable legal education. Established in 2021, Bahria University Law School, a constituent unit of Bahria University Islamabad offers a five-year degree program of LL. B, a 02 years’ specialized postgraduate degree of LL.M in Maritime Law, a 02-years’ degree of general LL.M and a 03 years’ PhD in Law program.
BU Law School continuously provides opportunities for its students to participate in various curricular and co-curricular activities, such as moot court competitions, mock trials, guest lectures, conferences, and workshops. Our law students have access to excellent infrastructural facilities, including a state of the art law lab having multiple PCs and a spacious moot court with dedicated coaching services. Furthermore, the School’s highly qualified and experienced faculty partakes in the development of legal professionalism and a sense of social commitment through the teaching-learning process. The alumni of BULS Law School embody our mission. Our accomplished alumni serve the nation as practicing lawyers in both the private and public sector. They hold top leadership positions in law firms, bar associations, government, private companies, and community organizations. Our alumni are generous with their time, and many serve as mentors to our students.
We realize that the theory and practice of law are complementary rather than conflicting. We have great respect for the craft of lawyering and hence, we focus it in our LLB program. At the same time, research skills are imparted in our Post Graduate programs of LLM and PhD. It gives me immense pleasure to share that our LLB program has been permanently/ fully accredited by Pakistan Bar council (PBC) and all our PG and UG programs are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (PHEC).
In recent times, legal education has proved to be an area of growing avenues and its outreach has widened in leaps and bounds, which BU Law School has facilitated by forming associations with ICRC and provincial Bar Councils. We are also in the process to become members of International Bar Association (IBA) and Asian Law Institute (ASLI) besides signing MOUs with prestigious universities of UK, China and Turkey. These associations reflect the readiness of BU Law School to provide opportunities to students much beyond the curriculum, in particular teacher and student exchange programs, knowledge sharing, and socio-cultural exchange with foreign countries.
I left Judicial service and joined academia in 2007 because I believe in the value of legal education and in the vital importance of training future generations of lawyers to do all the critically important things that a civil society and growing economy needs lawyers to do. Whenever I meet with prospective or new law students, I am energized by the enthusiasm, ambition and commitment that make them want to come to law school and join the legal profession.
BU Law School has it all: a talented student body, dynamic faculty, accomplished alumni, and hard-working and mission-oriented staff dedicated to student success. I encourage you to review the information on our website, social media, and other outlets to learn more about BU Law School. Moreover, I highly recommend you to visit us on our campus so you can talk to our faculty, staff, and students and see firsthand everything BU Law School has to offer.
I look forward to meeting you.
