1. Department of International Relations Signs MoU with Pakistan Institute of Conflict and Security Studies

 

The Department of International Relations, Bahria University Islamabad, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the  Pakistan Institute of Conflict and Security Studies to foster academic collaboration and strengthen research in the fields of international  relations, security studies, conflict analysis, and strategic affairs.
 
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation through joint research projects, policy dialogues, seminars, conferences, publications,  student and faculty engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between academia and the  policy community by encouraging evidence-based research and informed discussions on emerging regional and global security  challenges.
 
This collaboration reflects the Department's continued commitment to academic excellence, policy-oriented research, and meaningful  partnerships with leading research institutions, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and the development of future scholars and practitioners in international relations.
 


2. Department of International Relations Welcomes Bahria University–NACTA MoU

The Department of International Relations, Bahria University Islamabad, welcomes the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bahria University and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) on 21 July 2026.

This strategic collaboration marks an important step towards strengthening academic and policy engagement in areas of national and international significance. The partnership aims to foster joint research initiatives, facilitate policy dialogue, promote academic cooperation, and enhance capacity-building activities in the fields of international relations, national security, counterterrorism, strategic studies, and related disciplines.

The Department of International Relations looks forward to contributing to this collaborative framework through research, knowledge exchange, and academic initiatives that support evidence-based policymaking and strengthen Pakistan's strategic and security discourse.


3. Round Table Discussion on Pakistan's Foreign Policy Outlook: Strategic Challenges and Diplomatic Opportunities

The Department of International Relations, Bahria University, successfully organized a Round Table Discussion titled "Pakistan's Foreign Policy Outlook: Strategic Challenges and Diplomatic Opportunities" on 29 July 2026 at Bahria University E-8 Campus, Islamabad.

The event brought together an eminent panel of diplomats, policymakers, security practitioners, and academics, including Ambassador Masood Khan, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Major General (Retd.) Raza Muhammad, Ambassador Jauhar Saleem, Ambassador Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Ambassador Moin ul Haque, Additional Inspector General of Police Jawad Ahmad Dogar, Mr. Khalid Rehman, Ambassador Naela Chohan, Professor Dr. Amna Mahmood, and Ambassador Masood Khalid.

The distinguished panel engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on Pakistan's evolving foreign policy priorities, regional security dynamics, emerging geopolitical challenges, and diplomatic opportunities. The discussion reflected the Department's commitment to promoting critical inquiry, evidence-based policy dialogue, and academic excellence while strengthening the link between academia and policy practice.
