I am Amima Salam. My professional journey starts from masters in Clinical Psychology in 2007 (UOK) which was followed by post-graduation in 2008 from IPP, Bahria University. After that I got my first job at IPP as visiting lecturer where are I taught for few years along with teaching at other institutes and universities of Karachi. In last 14 years of experience I have been also associated with Transformation International Society, AKUH, JPMC and other big NGOs of Pakistan as therapist, lecturer, trainer and counselor. During this tenure I have been also invited as chief guest, keynote speaker and guest speaker and conducted multiple trainings. Beside studying psychology, I have also studied Hypnotherapy from National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH, US), NLP (US) and Silva. Later on I was among 9 instructors in Pakistan who are certified from NGH (US).

Currently, I am working as Assistant Medical Director at Transformation Wellness Clinics. And I am member of APA, NGH and PPA.

My biggest achievements include receiving rewards from Sachal Rangers and another reward from JPMC and Transformation International Society received by Sind Health Secretary along with many other awards for serving humanity beyond self.

In order to fulfill my quest for knowledge once again I started my education and completed MPhil (Clinical Psychology) in 2021.

After doing Masters in Clinical Psychology I took admission in PMD at IPP in 2007. I was unsure whether my decision was right or not. But my all close friends took admission so with crossed fingers just because of their influence I also joined them.

First thing inspired me at IPP was the environment (cleaned and well maintained). I thanked Almighty for this as I was bit sensitive to physical environment. As the days passed I became more grateful to Him as I started feeling more positive changes in myself because of the teachings and positive attitude of the teachers. By the end of diploma in 2009 I had full confidence in my psychological assessment and therapeutic skills. Major role in my transformation was played by IPP teachers. Their professionalism not only helped me in professional growth but it also helped me personally. The most surprising thing to me which enhanced my professional self-confidence more was when I was offered department director’s personal assistance job. Than after couple of months I was offered visiting faculty job in 2009 at IPP. After this Alhamdulillah I started achieving numerous successes that includes association with many big organizations such as AKUH, JPMC and Transformation International Society. Furthermore, I was awarded multiple times including rewards from Pakistan Sachal Rangers and another reward from JPMC and Transformation International Society received by Sind Health Secretary for serving humanity.

Because of my prior amazing experience and beautiful memories at IPP after few years I enrolled for the MPhil program at IPP. Today, I am proud to be a part of the mental health field. When I reflect back I have nothing but being grateful. The journey from a shy and introvert person to a confident international trainer seems like a dream come true. I always look back at this journey with love where there are uncountable wonderful memories of IPP holds. Thank you IPP for everything. May you keep shining.
