Eidetic Therapy Workshop

The Institute of Professional Psychology, Bahria University, Karachi Campus arranged a three day training workshop on Eidetic Therapy. The facilitator of the workshop was Akhter Ali Syed who is the Principal Clinical Psychologist at Brothers of Charity Services, Waterford, Ireland. The training was conducted from August 8th to August 10th 2016.

The first day of the workshop was a philosophical and historical background to the development of the Eidetic Therapy model. The second and third days revolved around the theoretical understanding and demonstrative sessions of the model. The sessions were very interactive and the facilitator indicated the feasibility and application of the model not just in regards to the academic or clinical application but also its socio-political application.

The participants actively engaged in the workshop and felt that its practical nature made them feel connected.The interventions that were demonstrated were applicable at a clinical as well as at a personal level. The participants also communicated their enthusiasm by communicating that they would like further trainings to be held of the same model and would like for this to become part of the postgraduate coursework.
