Karachi: Sindh (December 10, 2018) – Bahria University Karachi Campus held the Pre-Sindh Innovation Summit Session on the topic CPEC; Its Maritime, Economic and Technological Challenges on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Al Beruni Auditorium.
The session was a panel discussion based on the Economic, Maritime and Technological Challenges that are to be encountered in the successive run of CPEC. The session was chaired by Senator Ms. Sherry Rehman. The panelists included Mr. Mukesh Kumar, the provincial chief of SMEDA Sindh, Mr. Nadeem Hussain, the founder and coach of the latest venture planet N, also the founder and ex-CEO of Tameer Bank and Easy Paisa, Mr. Syed Salim Raza, the ex-Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Ms. Rida Saifee, current affairs analyst as well as a lead anchor at the channel K-21 News and Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, a renowned industrialist and chairman of Baig industries. The experienced panelists shared their views with respect to the topic. The talk was 2 hours long including question answers session from the audience. It was an open forum for the discussion. The event turned out to be significantly successful in figuring out the said challenges and their solutions. At the end, the Director General Bahria University Karachi Campus, Rear Admiral (Retd) Mukhtar Khan Hilal-e-Imtiaz Military thanked all the guests and presented them with souvenirs.
Bahria University had also invited other guests and universities from all over Pakistan to grace the session with their presence. Other guests included Director (provincial head) HEC Mr. Javed Memon, Representatives of Academic Institutions from Karachi University, Federal Urdu University, Hamdard University, Jinnah University for Women, DHA Suffa University, ICCBS, Newports Institute, UMT Lahore, IRP,SZABIST,MAJU, IOBM, Mehran University Jamshoro, SBBU Nawabshah, LUAMS Jamshoro, Lasbela University Uthal Balochistan and other Corporate Guests from State Bank of Pakistan, FPCCI, KCCI, Banks, 10xC, Planet-N Group of companies, Baig group of Industries and Media Team. Souvenirs were given out by the session chair to the panelists, and by the DGKC to the session chair.
