Throughout the world, breast cancer poses a major health risk for women. Every year, one million women are diagnosed with breast cancer. In Pakistan 1 out of every 9 women has become a patient of breast cancer, due to which Pakistan has the highest rate of breast cancer in Asia.

 

“????????? ?????? ????? ??????. ??? ??????????? ???? ????!”

The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. It represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people who publicly support the breast cancer movement.

 

In this regard, Bahria University Karachi Campus, Community Support Program-Student Support Centre Department organized Pink Ribbon Day on Thursday, 21st October 2021.

 

The following are the planned CSP activities:

 

  • Cancer awareness session will be conducted at Al Beruni Auditorium at 1100 hours which is only for females followed by Pink Ribbon Walk.
  • Pink Ribbon human bow.
  • Scavenger Hunt. (Donation Purpose)
  • Photobooth. (Donation Purpose)
  • Bake sale/food stalls (Donation Purpose)
  • Indoor games. (Donation Purpose)

 

Through CSP Activities we were able to collect Rs.80, 250/- (Eighty Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Rupees) donations for Breast Cancer Hospital. (receipt attached)

 

Dr. Maryum Nouman Medical Consultant Oncology and Dr. Maharukh Aamir Medical Officer Bahria University Karachi gave detailed information about this lethal disease. 1 out of 9 women could be the victim of breast cancer but still, there is a 95% chance of survival exist due to early diagnosis.

 

Nadir Gobol was the chief guest of the seminar. He highlights the importance of awareness of this sensitive issue among the students.

 

In the end, Principal Bahria Business School Dr. Saima Zia, Manager SSC Umair Zafar, and Assistant Manager CSP Sumaira Ajmal presented the souvenirs to the guests.

Bahria University Karachi Campus celebrated this day to know the unknown and to promote the wellbeing of the mothers, daughters, and sisters of Pakistan. Let’s save the future together!

CSP hours were given to students according to the activities. COVID19 SOP’s will be ensured by the management and requested to take self-precautionary measures as well.

 

The temperature was checked at the gate, and no one was allowed to enter without a mask.

 

Overall, the event was successfully conducted. With the combined team efforts of the management and the students, we were able to generate funds through different indoor activities.
