Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientist (PAPG) South and Bahria University Karachi Campus’s Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences conducted the second conference on the topic “Explore & Groom Young Geoscience Talent” at Bahria University Karachi Campus, on 8th September 2018. Bestowing with his presence was “Kamran Aziz” Joint Secretary (PAPG) Pakistan Association of Petroleum Geoscientist as our Chief Guest.
This conference gave an opportunity to the students to interact with the professionals of the industry and get an idea about the current practices and happenings. The future of Geophysics in Pakistan and its challenges were also brought to attention.
We are very thankful to University of Karachi, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology, Sindh University – Jamshoro & Quetta University – Baluchistan. You really gave a message that there is no measure of distance in hearts between Sindh & Baluchistan and the students.
We are sincerely thankful to industry i.e. Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), United Energy Pakistan Limited (UEPL) and ENI to send their representatives to bridge the distance between universities and industries.
The technical sessions were of great help and knowledge especially the Q/A sessions gave us an opportunity to deliberate on the topics.

The award for the Best Oral Presentation was won by a student from Baluchistan University.
The Best Poster Presentation was awarded to the students from BUKC.
The Quiz Competition was won by the students of Karachi University.
The conference gave students, an exposure to the practical world and to be précised, the practicalities of their field.
