With the growing number of automobiles, waste materials and the greenhouse effect becoming more and more of a threat, pollution is something to be concerned about.
The Alumni Association teamed up with, Community Service Program of Bahria University, Islamabad. A Hiking Trip to Trail 5 was planned to remove the litter from the area and to create awareness amongst the general public on the importance of throwing garbage in trash cans. Littering is not only unhygienic but also an eyesore and the root cause of land pollution
Our beloved Prophet (SAWW) said: ‘Cleanliness is half the religion’. To reinforce this concept students were assigned specific areas to clean up. To ensure sanitation and hygiene, gloves along with plastic bags were distributed, to collect the litter. Water bottles were also given to keep the students hydrated during the strenuous activity.
To keep the students motivated and lively, on the spot competitions were organized. Gifts and certificates were later presented to the winners and the participants as encouragement.
This activity not only gave the level of awareness against pollution and littering, but also proved to be a healthy and productive exercise for the students.

Therefore, Bahria University Alumni Association teamed up with the Student Support Centre under CSP and conducted an Anti-Littering Drive at Trail 5, Margalla Hills on 19th November, 2016. A Hiking Trip was arranged to remove the litter from the area and to create awareness amongst the general public on the importance of throwing garbage in trash cans. Litter is not only unhygienic but also an eyesore and the root cause of land pollution.
About 100 students from various departments participated and made it successful. The purpose of the drive was to create litter awareness and educate our students about it. The activity intended to increase litter consciousness and encouraged litter reduction and proper garbage disposal among our students.
