Bahria University Islamabad organized Biannual Career Expo 2018 with aim to bring the job seekers and employers under one roof and to guide candidates on various career paths and innovative job hunt tactics. The job fair was poised to serve as an effective way for the organizations to directly interact with prospective candidates and recruit the required talent without going through the hassle of traditional hiring practices.

Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral (R) Muhammad Shafiq HI (M) inaugurated the event. Other senior management of university, alumni and potential employers were also present at the occasion. The Career Expo ’18 provided a unique forum to connect employers who offer career opportunities with candidates from Bahria University Islamabad. The industry representatives as well as human resource experts from top corporate organizations gave an overview of the various industries’ update on HR demands, employment requirement and career prospects. The event was arranged with an objective of not only connecting BU students with local employers but also to provide an opportunity for students and alumni to learn about job openings, research companies and practice their interviewing and networking skills.

Around 100 leading companies of telecom, services, manufacturing, NGOs and banking sectors participated in the Career Expo 2018. Other resources that were available also included career counseling professionals. The event continued for the whole day during which the employers conducted on spot interviews and shortlisted the candidates as per their requirement. The companies namely Air Blue, WWF Pakistan, National Assembly Secretariat, Best way Cement, IBM, LMKR, Hashoo Group and many others participated.

Large number of current students as well as BU participated and alumni appeared for interviews and explored various career opportunities for themselves. According to BU Policy, the teaching methodology is aligned with industry requirements and BU is focusing on employ-ability of its graduates in industry. In this regard this expo has been organized to achieve strategic goals of BU for the betterment of students.
