Accreditation is the act of granting credit or recognition, especially to an educational institution that maintains suitable standards. The standards for accreditation are set by a peer review board whose members include faculty from various accredited colleges and universities. The board aids in the evaluation of each potential new school accreditation or the renewals of previously accredited colleges/schools.
Academic Programmes undertaken at BU are accredited with all accreditation bodies like: Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) & National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC).
The Accreditation Councils of Pakistan accredit respective programmes of the HEIs and award appropriate ratings. Accreditation councils also visit Bahria University from time to time for accreditation/reaccreditation BU programmes. In June 2015 to further streamline the process and prepare for accreditation council’s visit, Quality Assurance Directorate was given additional charge and responsibility of conducting ’Mock Audit’ 45 days prior to visit of Accreditation bodies to BU.
