The Autism Awareness Day Symposium 2026 at Bahria University College of Medicine (BUCM) was successfully organized by the Department of Paediatrics on 14th April 2026.The symposium featured distinguished speakers including Col. Dr. Sheraz (Child Psychiatrist), Ms. Anmol (Clinical Psychologist), Dr. Manal (Child Psychiatrist from Los Angeles, USA), and Mr. Umair bin Tahir, who runs autism centres in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The event highlighted the growing need for early screening, parent education, and integrated care involving pediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and rehabilitation specialists. It also emphasized the challenges faced in Pakistan regarding awareness, stigma, and access to specialized services.
