Iqbal's Vision of Resilience, Renewal, and Global Transformation
The 7th Iqbal Conference 2025 was held on 12 November 2025 as an online session, with recorded presentations simultaneously played in Lecture Hall 2, BUCM. Moderated by Dr. Nimra Waqar, the session highlighted Iqbal’s message that individuals should neither attach themselves blindly to the East nor fear the progress of the West. While acknowledging the Western world’s advancements in science, technology, education, and social systems, Iqbal urges us to rediscover our own potential and rise above cultural, geographical, or traditional limitations. True progress, he emphasizes, comes from self-discipline, knowledge, and continuous effort, just as nature renews itself with each dawn.
Following the thematic introduction, recorded scholarly presentations were showcased, featuring contributions from Samra Kouser, Dr. Inam Ul Haq, Dr. Muhammad Rehan, Dr. Javed Iqbal Javed, Dr. Sajjad Hussain & Zulaikha Iqbal, Dr. Shafiqa Bushra, and Faran Hassan Qadri. Each presenter discussed Iqbal’s call for self-awakening, confidence, and the courage to create a “new dawn” within ourselves despite global challenges.
The conference concluded with thoughtful remarks by the Session Chair, Prof. Dr. Wafa Omar Director research BUHSCI, who appreciated all contributors and underscored the relevance of Iqbal’s ideals of Khudi, resilience, and renewal. She reminded participants that true progress comes through innovation, effort, and belief in one’s own capabilities rather than imitation, formally closing the session.
