Pinktober 2026: Early is Empowering

Department of Surgery & Pink Force @ BUHSCI | HEC Pink Ribbon Youth Leadership Programme

The Department of Surgery and Pink Force @ BUHSCI conducted a month-long breast cancer awareness campaign under the HEC Pink Ribbon Youth Leadership Programme 2026, promoting early detection, breast health education, and community engagement.

The campaign featured an inaugural seminar, “Early is Empowering – Breast Cancer Awareness,” at BUHSCI on 23 September 2026, followed by student awareness sessions and outreach activities at educational institutions, including Beaconhouse International College Potohar & H11 campus, International College of Excellence ICE Islamabad and Bahria College Naval Anchorage. A community outreach activity at Safari Medical Centre, Bahria Town, combined awareness education with free clinical screening. A hands-on breast examination workshop using a manikin further strengthened practical learning among students.

Creative initiatives, including the Pink Tree, Pink Pathway, Pink Wall of Hope, Pitch Up in Pink as part of Sports Week activity, a Pinktober bake sale, and donation collection, encouraged participation and promoted solidarity with individuals affected by breast cancer.

Through the active involvement of MBBS students as Pink Force ambassadors, the campaign extended breast cancer education beyond the university, encouraging informed conversations, dispelling misconceptions, and highlighting the importance of timely medical consultation.

Pink Force @ BUHSCI remains committed to empowering communities through awareness, education, and early detection—because Early is Empowering.
