A high-level delegation comprising officials from 10 leading Turkish universities visited Bahria University, Islamabad. The delegation brought together nearly 17 representatives from the Turkish higher education sector to explore avenues for strengthening academic and research collaboration between Türkiye and Pakistan.
The delegation included representatives from Boğaziçi University, Dokuz Eylül University, Gazi University, Gebze Technical University, Hacettepe University, İstanbul Technical University, İzmir Institute of Technology, Middle East Technical University, Sabancı University, and Yıldız Technical University. The engagement focused on expanding cooperation in areas including student and faculty exchange programmes, joint academic and research initiatives, internships, summer programmes, joint publications, workshops and conferences, double/dual degree opportunities, and postgraduate scholarships. Discussions also covered the proposed Türkiye–Pakistan (Saudi Arabia) University of Technology, including its potential academic scope and institutional framework.
One of the major highlights of the events was signing of two MOUs between Bahria University and two visiting Turkish Universities; Yıldız Technical University and Dokuz Eylül University. Visiting universities brought diverse strengths spanning engineering and technology, artificial intelligence, data science, health and biomedical sciences, energy and environmental studies, materials science, robotics, marine sciences, and social sciences, providing a broad foundation for interdisciplinary collaboration.
The visit provided an opportunity for Bahria University to engage directly with leading Turkish institutions on initiatives aimed at facilitating academic mobility, collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
