Bahria University College of Medicine (BUCM), Islamabad, held an awareness session, “Empowering Action – Diabesity at Workplace,” on 27 Nov 2025 in collaboration with Novo Nordisk and Health Services Academy.

As diabetes and obesity continue to affect millions in Pakistan, Dr. Matiullah Khan, Consultant Endocrinologist Shifa International Hospital; Dr. Saadia – Director, HSA Health and Wellness Centre; Prof. Dr. Tahira Sadiq, HOD Community Medicine BUCM; and Prof. Dr. Zaheer Awan, HOD Medicine BUCM, delivered insightful talks on prevention, early detection, and practical management. The session explored the link between diabetes and obesity and outlined actionable steps for individuals and organizations to promote healthier workplaces. Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Shazia Nisar (Retd.), Principal BUCM, and Rear Admiral Abdul Basit Butt HI (M), DG BUCM, were Guests of Honour.
Around 100 faculty members and medical students attended, and participants took the opportunity to undergo screening for diabetes and obesity.
