About

The Quality Assurance Directorate of Bahria University, Islamabad, is a central body dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the highest standards of academic and research excellence. It serves a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all campuses of the University, ensuring that academic programs, research initiatives, and institutional practices consistently meet the highest benchmarks of quality and effectiveness.

In alignment with the policies and guidelines of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, national accreditation and regulatory bodies, as well as international quality assurance standards, the Directorate is entrusted with the development and implementation of comprehensive quality assurance systems. These systems are applied through both internal and external mechanisms and include processes such as institutional self-assessments, academic mock audits, and the systematic self-review of all academic programs across campuses. The Directorate also oversees the Institutional Performance Review and the continuous enhancement of Bahria University in accordance with the Higher Education Commission’s revised Quality Assurance Framework (PSG-2023). This ensures compliance with the requirements of accreditation bodies and responsiveness to the expectations of stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and industry partners.

By consistently strengthening the quality of education, research, and overall campus environment, the Quality Assurance Directorate of Bahria University plays an essential role in advancing the University’s mission and vision. Through the effective execution of its strategic objectives, the Directorate ensures that Bahria University remains at the forefront of academic distinction and institutional development.

OBJECTIVES

    • To enhance public confidence that the quality and standards of degree awards are consistently assessed, improved, and safeguarded.
    • To review the quality standards and the quality of teaching and learning in each subject area.
    • To review the academic affiliations with other institutions in terms of effective management of standards and quality of programs.
    • To define clear and explicit standards as reference points for the Quality Assurance reviews. This helps the prospective employers for getting clear expectation from Bahria University graduates.
    • To develop program specifications. These are a standard set of information that lays down what knowledge, understanding, skills, and other attributes a student will have developed on completing a specific program.
    • To develop quality assurance processes and methods of evaluation to ensure that the quality of education and the standards of awards of degrees & honors are being properly maintained. And also to keep under constant review the Curricula, Syllabi, Faculty development & R&D together with other scholarly activities as pointed by Quality Assurance activities like Self-Assessment Report (SAR).
    • To ensure that the university’s quality assurance procedures align with Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Commission (HEC) for improving and maintaining the quality of higher education.
