The Department of Software Engineering at Bahria University Islamabad is one of the first computing departments in Pakistan which started Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Software Engineering. Its Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering is accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and so far more than 10 batches have graduated from this prestigious department. We are also the first computing department in Pakistan which started postgraduate programs in Software Engineering. The department is well known for its high-quality research in different areas including evolutionary software design, enterprise modeling, requirements engineering, and software development processes.
Besides software engineering and information systems, the department is at the forefront in other domains of computing including image processing and pattern recognition, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Natural Language Processing, data mining and semantic web. The department offers BS, MS and PhD programs in software engineering.
