Program Title: BS ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE PROGRAM
Program Description
The BS Environmental Sciences program aims to provide students with a comprehensive, interdisciplinary foundation in natural sciences, social sciences, and policy studies, designed to understand and address environmental issues at local, national, and global scales. Students gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills in areas including ecology, environmental chemistry, hydrology, environmental laws and regulations, pollution control, and resource management. The curriculum emphasizes field training, laboratory work, and project-based learning to build competency in environmental monitoring, assessment, and sustainable management. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental consulting, government regulatory bodies, NGOs, industry compliance, conservation agencies, and research institutions.
Program Mission:
“To prepare graduates who are scientifically grounded, technically skilled, and professionally ethical, capable of understanding, mitigating, and managing environmental issues in Pakistan and the world, through rigorous interdisciplinary education, industry partnership, field engagement, and a commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.”
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
Graduates of the Environmental Science program will:
PEO-1. Apply Environmental Knowledge: Graduates will apply foundational knowledge of environmental sciences to analyze and address complex environmental issues in professional settings. PEO-2. Solve Environmental Problems: Graduates will utilize interdisciplinary approaches to develop innovative solutions to environmental problems and promote sustainability.
PEO-3. Conduct Environmental Assessments: Graduates will effectively utilize tools and techniques to conduct environmental assessments, monitoring, and research.
PEO-4. Promote Environmental Stewardship: Graduates will understand and communicate the impact of human activities on the environment and natural resources, and promote environmental conservation and stewardship.
PEO-5. Contribute to Sustainable Development: Graduates will develop and implement sustainable solutions with an ethical approach to environmental challenges, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):
