The Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT) program is a 05-year post-baccalaureate degree, was established by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). According to the "Vision 2020" initiative, physical therapy will be delivered by physical therapists who hold a DPT degree. By 2020, these practitioners are envisioned to be recognized by both consumers and other healthcare professionals as the preferred choice for diagnosing, intervening, and preventing issues related to movement, function, and health, with direct access for consumers.
