Prof Dr Humaira Zafar had graduated from Isra University Hyderabad in the year 2003 as it's pioneer batch member. She completed her MPhil in Microbiology from University of Health Sciences Lahore in the year 2011, Certificate in health professional education (CHPE) from Riphah International University Islamabad, in 2018, and Certificate for medical editing and journalism (CMEJ) from Dow university of health sciences Karachi, in 2022. She has completed certificate course from HKV, CQI IRCA ULN 519110 in 2023 for ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and lead auditor course. She is currently enrolled in NUMS as a PhD scholar. She is a life time member of Pakistan Association of Pathologists (PAP) and Medical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases Society of Pakistan.
She is an approved supervisor for M.Phil in Microbiology. Working as an examiner for MBBS, MPhil, BS - MLT, and BS - Nursing for Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University, Islamabad, University of Health Sciences, Lahore and Shifa Tameer E Millat University, Islamabad, is her added contribution for improving academic standards in relevant disciplines.
For the last 14 years, she is working as Managing Associate Editor of Isra Medical Journal Islamabad. Having a credit of 118 National and International publications along with 22 public awareness features in newspapers are the continuous contribution to the relevant field. Being a reviewer board member of 49 National and International medical journals, she is having a credit of reviewing 331 manuscripts. She is also a reviewer board member of funding grants submitted to NIH, and Belarusian-Pakistani Scientific and Technical Projects Competition-2025
She had completed two research projects by winning two funding grants, one from HRI, NIH of 03 millions and second one of 01million from IRF, NUMS. She had an experience of working as a technical advisor of pathology in UNICEF funded project at a National level. She had a previous 14 yrs experience of working as HOD Pahology, Director Bs Medical Lab Technology and Member Department of Health Professional Education.
Based upon all the mentioned experiences, together with the team of BUCM, BUHSCI, we will ensure bringing our college amongst one of the best and leading colleges of Pakistan and Globally as well.

Prof. Dr. Wafa Omer

Prof. Dr. Wafa Omer graduated from Army Medical College in the year 2004. She completed MPhil and PhD from Army Medical College, NUST in 2011 and 2016 respectively. She attained post-doctorate in Cardiovascular Genetics and Gene Annotation from University College London (UK) in 2017. She has over 17 years of teaching, clinical and administrative experience in the leading public and private sector Medical colleges across Pakistan. She was previously heading the Pathology diagnostic Laboratory at Benazir Bhutto Hospital. She was also Director PhD Chemical and Molecular Pathology Program and Project Director Research Laboratory Complex at Rawalpindi Medical University. She has previously held the prestigious profiles of Dean Academics and Dean Health Sciences and is highly experienced in curriculum design, postgraduate training, and implementation of international standards in medical education and laboratory services.
She has numerous National and International publications to her credit and has been awarded multiple Research grants and fellowships by HEC Pakistan, NUST, IFCC, and the Lindau Nobel Laureates Foundation. She has been awarded International travel grants to present her research papers in Dubai, Malaysia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom and Turkey . She is an HEC-approved PhD supervisor for Chemical Pathology and CPSP supervisor for fellowship in Chemical Pathology. Key areas of research include Cardiovascular Genetics, Endocrine Disorders, and Translational Chemical Pathology.
Professor Dr. Shumaila Najeeb

Professor of Pathology
Professor Dr. Shumaila Najeeb is an accomplished medical professional and academician with over 11 years of extensive teaching and laboratory experience in leading public and private sector medical institutions of Pakistan.
She graduated with an MBBS degree from the prestigious Dow Medical College, Karachi, in 1995. Pursuing her passion for Pathology, she obtained an MPhil in Histopathology from the Basic Medical Sciences Institute (BMSI), Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi, in 2003. In recognition of her dedication to medical education, she further enhanced her credentials by completing a Certification in Health Professions Education (CHPE) from King Edward Medical University, Lahore, in 2023.
She has served as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and currently as Professor of Pathology. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive learning, critical thinking, and integration of pathology with clinical practice.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has vast experience in laboratory medicine, including diagnostic histopathology, cytology, and hematology. She has played a significant role in designing and revising Pathology curricula to meet contemporary educational standards and is actively involved in mentoring junior faculty and students.
She has over 15 publications in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include oncopathology, gastrointestinal and endocrine pathology.
She is an approved examiner for undergraduate and postgraduate examinations at National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) and University of Health Sciences (UHS).
