Women empowerment by Business Incubation Center
Nayi Soch, an initiative of Business Incubation Center, Bahria University Islamabad Campus organized a one-day social entrepreneurship event on 2nd May 2019 at Naval Gymnasium. The Event was designed to promote women empowerment across the board and engage youth participation to practice and preach the concept of business scalability, sustainability and economic development through Entrepreneurship. Through this program women-led starts up were able to create and showcase their arts and crafts projects from the serviced/under-serviced stations across Islamabad/Rawalpindi, exposing them to opportunities they couldn’t get otherwise. For the event a total funding of Rs 1.1 Million was arranged by BIC and the event was successfully executed without any financial liability to Bahria University.
Chairperson PNWA/Begum CNS graced the event as Chief Guest. She appreciated the activities undertaken by BIC, BUIC for developing required skills set to promote women entrepreneurship. She further acknowledged Team BIC especially Mr. Ali Qasim for his contribution in successfully implementing a Parallel program called “Pehchan”, for local women entrepreneurs of Kalinger Village and other under-serviced stations across Islamabad/Rawalpindi. The program offered a unique opportunity to learn and encouraged them to practice the concepts of entrepreneurship and to grow beyond the socio-cultural, institutional, technical and financial barriers.
Dr. Shehzad Director ORIC BU briefed the Chief guest on multiple social entrepreneurship related programs executed by BIC BUIC. He also discussed diversified future collaboration opportunities and joint projects in the areas of Social Entrepreneurship with PNWA and Pakistan Navy.
