C-Code Conference 2019 – President emphasizes use of technology

The 2nd International two day Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital Systems (C-CODE 2019) commenced on the 6th of March at Bahria University, Islamabad.
The event was inaugurated by the president of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi. This is the second time the president has taken part in a conference at Bahria University, the first being the International Conference on Media and Conflict, 2019 (ICMC).
Dr. Arif Alvi during his speech discussed how scientific discoveries are a big part of the world today.
Science and technology he said are taking over everything. He also emphasized the importance of gaining knowledge and implementing it in our lives. The president said: “Apply knowledge as soon as it is available.”
This was a very important message for all the students to absorb the importance of knowledge especially in this age of technology. The inaugural session also brought to light the fact that the digitalization of everyday processes has advanced the world today.
The rector, Mr. Muhammad Shafiq during his speech stated that C-Code is working to look for solutions to counter cyber threats and cyber attacks because, in this digital era, cybersecurity has become a serious concern. The matter at hand is the future of computing and artificial intelligence techniques to help solve real problems.
The event was organized and managed by computer science and electrical engineering departments. This initiative was taken in order to educate the young students of computer studies and engineering to understand the particulars of the world of technology.
Such activities in recent times have proven to be healthy for the entire student community as students are now being able to be a part of extracurricular activities while taking a break from the typical hectic routine.
