PARTICIPATION OF BAHRIA UNIVERSITY IN PCTN SEMINAR TITLED “SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SOLUTIONS AND ACTION PLANS FOR UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR YOUTH” AT NUST ON 18TH MARCH, 2015
Bahria University Islamabad participated in a seminar by Pakistan Chapter of Talloires Network (PCTN) on “Sustainable Development Solutions and Action Plans for Universities and their Youth” on 18th March, 2015 at Main CIPS Auditorium at NUST. The seminar was attended by 15 other PCTN member universities and the focus was on the following topics:
- Education and skill development for poverty reduction in Pakistan
- Energy conservation and finding alternate sources for Pakistan
The event included 2 panel discussion sessions and visit to community service stalls displayed by the PCTN member universities. Many esteemed panelists enlightened the audience as to where we stand in Pakistan on the above issues, and what should be the next 5 year “action plan” for universities and their youth.
Bahria University displayed their Community Service Stall at NUST which highlighted the activities being done their Community Support Program. The stall display included a presentation on the CSP of Bahria University and other promotional material. From the end of BUIC, the event was attended by the Honorable Rector, the team of office of Student Affairs, the faculty and students of Department of Professional Psychology, the team of Student Resource Center, and a total of about 18 volunteer students from Bahria University.
