INDIGENOUS ON CAMPUS TRAINING AT BU

Five-days Indigenous on Campus training (IOT) workshops for administrative and Management Cadre ended at Bahria University Islamabad here amidst rounds of applause and accolades by the participants.

The IOT workshops, comprising five different sessions each day from 20th Oct to 24th Oct  were planned by the Bahria University Human Resource Development Office in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) under the capacity building of non-teaching staff. The topics of the training were Stress Management, Presentation Skills, Communication Skills, Writing Skills, Team Work, E-Governance, Finance & Audit and Administrative skills.

Speaking on the concluding ceremony of the IOT, Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral ® Shahid Iqbal HI(M) said that “Whether one is student or a professional, the need of learning new trends and approaches never lose its importance. This IOT is a unique opportunity under the auspices of HEC for universities non-teaching staff and employees to refresh their knowledge and enhance their capacity and productivity. As a result of this training, not only the capacity and efficiency of the universities’ employees will improve but also help to promote good governance on campus.”

Expressing her views a participant, Mrs. Samina Chaduary, Deputy Director (QA), said, “I feel honored after having had target oriented lectures and interaction with learned experts. Being a professional I have to deal with technology by considering the needs and demands of my stakeholders, however, this workshop on leadership in management has added into my managerial as well as leadership skills to get my objectives effectively and efficiently. I learnt to understand and not only to reply,” she added.

Another participant of BU, Ms. Mehwish Kamran, Public Relations Officer said that “the interactive and real life-like activity based sessions helped me a lot to learn how to deal with difficult situations at my job by mere application of management and organizing skills.” “The elements of conflict resolution and effective communication in difficult times have critical role in every organizations and especially in academic set up and I am going to enjoy my professional responsibilities with this new learning,” she added. Moreover, the Administrative staff of different universities including Air University and NUST participated in this training.

Lastly, Rector Bahria University, Vice Admiral ® Shahid Iqbal HI(M) distributed certificates among the participants and resource persons of training and appreciated their interest and keenness in IOT.
