Inauguration of Computer Lab gifted by BU at Pakistan Sweet Homes

Under the Community Support Program, the Office of Student Affairs at Bahria University has established partnership with Pakistan Sweet Homes (PSH) in September 2014. The association with PSH provides opportunities of unpaid internship programs and volunteer activities to the students of Bahria University. The objective is to strengthen our CSP because the ideology of establishment of PSH is very much in line with Bahria University’s CSP i.e. community service. Currently, the students of Bahria University work voluntarily once a week (every Friday) for two hours from 2 to 4 pm at PSH. The Psychology Department of the university has also initiated a PEACE Project /Counseling Center at PSH under the supervision of HOD (Professional Psychology) which will be operational from February 2015. The management of Bahria University has gifted a Computer Lab to Pakistan Sweet Homes which consists of 26 computer systems with networking items, furniture and other equipment of a total worth of Rs. 1 million.

The provision of Computer Lab included renovation of the room and interior decoration, new paint, provision of furniture items (13 tables, 26 computer systems and chairs plus 1 instructor chair), installation of Computer systems and fixation of networking items by the System Engineer and his team, 2 creative and colorful notice boards with pictures and knowledge of Computer (for middle school children) made by the PO (CSP) and promotional material for the projection of Bahria University.

The inauguration of the Computer Lab was done by the Rector of Bahria University on 22nd January, 2015 consisting of a cultural show followed by a visit to the Computer Lab. From the end of Bahria University, the event was attended by the Rector, Pro Rector, all Directors, the team of Office of Student Affairs, Public relations Officer and PO (SRC). During the event, the Rector of Bahria University also announced that Bahria University will follow and provide further measures for the maintenance of Computer Lab and would financially bear the cost of two Computer teachers (students from the Software Engineering Department of the university) under the collaboration with Pakistan Sweet Homes.
