An International Seminar on the topic of “Fundamentals of Intellectual Property” was held by the Office of Research & Development/ORIC, BUHQs, Islamabad on 19th February, 2014 in collaboration with Commercial Law Development Program (CLPD) – US Department of Commerce (USDOC) and Higher Education Commission (HEC) in order to create awareness among academicians, researchers and students about the laws of Intellectual Property Rights and its implementation in our country.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Tariq Mehmood, Advisor R&D, HEC threw light on the research, innovation and commercialization endeavors undertaken in educational institutes of Pakistan.
Pro-Rector/DG Campus of Bahria University, Rear Admiral (R) Saleem Akhtar HI(M) in his welcoming address said that Bahria University has established Business Incubation Centers at Karachi and Islamabad campuses to procreate space for young and prospective entrepreneurs with imitable business ideas and strong commercialize-able aspect.
On this occasion, following guest speakers were invited who shared their valuable ideas and highlighted legal and basic issues about trademark and ownership of copyrights to the participants from BU and representatives of all the universities located in Rawalpindi/Islamabad region.
