Climate Change Adaptation workshop with collaboration of Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (DEES) and Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Sindh

Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences (DEES) organized 2-day Training Workshop on “Climate Change Adaptation” at Bahria University Karachi Campus on 26- 27 March 2019. The professionals from Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), Professors and Researchers from DEES shared their studies, experiences and knowledge during the plenary sessions of the workshop on following themes.
- Science of Climate Change: Impacts and key concepts of climate change vulnerabilities with reference to Pakistan
- Vehicular & Industrial Emissions: Effects of public transport & Industrial emissions on GHGs, and their effects on Global Warming and Climate Change
- Natural Disasters: Climate change triggered events and overview of Heat waves at Karachi
- Environment & Media: Effective campaign of climate change adaptation?
- “Climate Change Adaptation” Declamation Contest among BU-DEES students
Participants of workshop enjoyed and learned several arguments from the declamation session. The students group leaders presented their views, observations, facts and studies both in against and favor of “Role of youth in Climate change adaptation”.
