Lab – Power Transmission And Distribution
Category: November 5, 2019

The Power System Laboratory of the Department of Electrical Engineering is the state-of-art laboratory located at Bahria University Karachi Campus. The objective of this laboratory is to give students knowledge and understanding of Transmission & Distribution and Electrical Fault Analysis. Lab experiments are designed in coherence with theory, practically students can perform Three phase Transformer vector groups, No Load Operation of Transmission Lines, Short Circuit Analysis, Different Load Responses, Double Bus-Bar Controlling with Load and No Load Operation. Students will also develop understanding and of power system analysis through simulations in MATLAB Simulink, ETAP and Power Factory

The main goals of Power System Lab at Bahria University Karachi Campus are:

  • Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution Systems
  • Impedance response of Three-Phase Transformer and Transmission Line
  • Three-Phase winding Transformers, Transformers with Variable Transformation Ratio
  • Determining the Conventional efficiency of the Alternator using Open and Short Circuit Test
  • Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Load and Short Circuit Analysis
  • Fault Analysis of Electrical Systems
  • Double Bus-Bar Controlling with Load and No Load Operation
  • Series and Parallel Compensation for Reactive Power Reduction
  • Regulation Characteristics at different Power Factors
