Short Biography

After completing my MSc degree, I joined SSUET as lecturer in January 2005. I secured full HEC scholarship for PhD in 2006 and proceeded to Manchester (UK) to undertake PhD studies and research in January 2007. My PhD research was supervised by Dr Chris Harrison and the research work focused on Automated Short-Answer Marking and semi-structured data. I got 2 journal publications and 3 conference papers as a result of my PhD research. After completing my PhD, I rejoined SSUET in 2011 and continued to work there as faculty member till mid of 2014. I played a key role in organizing the 14th IEEE INMIC conference held at SSUET (in December 2011). After leaving SSUET, I worked at Iqra Univesity (North Campus) as Assistant Professor for three years. In June 2017, I joined Computer Science Department of Bahria University-Karachi Campus. Apart from teaching load, I am NCEAC co-ordinator for the department. I am also reviewer/examiner of MS and PhD thesis. My areas of interest include Machine Learning, Semi-Structured Data, Compiler Construction, Theory of Automata and Object-Oriented Programming.
