BUKC Media Students visit Indus Hospital

A delegation of BS final year students of Department of Media Studies BUKC, as part of their field work in Development Support Communication, visited Indus Hospital Karachi as a model NGO in Pakistan.

Mr. Haider Rizvi, Manager Corporate Relations and his team received the delegation. During the visit, media students observed various sections of one of the biggest health sector charitable project of the country. They visited Blood Center, OPD and different wards where needy people were being provided with quality treatment without any charges.

During briefing, the delegation was informed that Indus Hospital serves common needy people without any charges with its 12 branches in different parts of country and provides treatment to about 3 lac needy patients per month. They were informed that few years back after a blast at Bohri Bazar in Karachi, in which hundreds of people were injured and needed blood donations, Dr. Abdul Bari floated the idea of establishing a trauma center.  Now the Indus Hospital has a full-fledged Blood Centre to meet any emergency anywhere within the shortest possible time.  Moreover the ongoing extension work would lead to availability of one thousand plus beds for providing indoor treatment to the needy people.
