Short Biography
Currently I am working as Senior Assistant Professor in Management Sciences department at Bahria University Karachi Campus. Having an overall experience of 18 years in corporate and academia, I served Management Science department, Hamdard University for more than seven years as a Senior Lecturer. In addition I have also worked as supply chain development auditor and Senior Social Compliance auditor at Wal-Mart and Steve and Barry’s. As an Academician I have extensively researched about the flaws and mistakes committed by various suppliers and factories in textile and garments and derived procedures to prevent it from happening in the organization. One of my research paper has published titled “Working off the clock and its impact” in one of the renowned journal of Business ethics which is ISI indexed with impact factor of 1.5.
Additionally I won a competitive research grant of worth USD 12000 funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). The project was a part of Pakistan Strategy Support Program (PSSP) that is initiated to strengthen policymaking in Pakistan in the areas of rural and agricultural development. The project (2014-15) was won through competition in which 325 researchers from all over Pakistan had applied and 35 research grants were approved. The project started in Nov. 2014 and successfully completed in June 2016. The objective of the research project was to investigate the association between hiring contractual piece rate workers, minimum wage violation and overtime premium violations in textile and garment industry.
