Designation: Section Officer (BPS-18)/CSP Officer
Company name: Ministry of Maritime Affairs (Karachi office)/Federal Government of Pakistan
My journey began from Beacon house School system, from where I completed my O’Levels from Science field but later shifted to commerce in the St. Joseph College for Women, because I never really wanted to become a doctor in the first place, despite immense pressure by my parents. I was always a practical person, intrigued by conceptual learning and creative content.
Hence, I completed my graduation i.e. Bachelors in Business Administration from Bahria University Karachi campus, and did majors in Marketing. The four years spent in the university were one of the most enjoyable and learning moments of my life where I got to learn from such excellent teachers and mentors. It was in this very University that during a guest speaker session in the auditorium, a Foreign Service officer talked about qualifying the Central Superior Service examinations, the challenges and her achievements throughout her career. It was so inspiring; I remember thinking about it for so many months and was obsessed with the idea of being a CSP officer, until I managed to embark on this extremely competitive and challenging journey myself.
Soon after I graduated, I started preparing for CSS examinations. It took me about good five months of hardcore preparations, sleepless nights and zero socializing; to actually cover the course contents. My parents were my strength during that time, stood by me, supported me and most importantly believed in me. I still remember coming back from my corporate workplace in the evening and I was totally unaware that the result had come, until my old friend called me and congratulated me. I was clueless, flabbergasted, I could not believe her. I immediately took out my roll number and to my surprise saw my name in the qualifier’s list. I can’t forget that day ever. The tears of joy in my parents’ eyes, their proud faces, were everything I had ever wished for.
Now, after serving for more than five years in the federal government of Pakistan, it was not an easy journey let me clear it. It was hard to not indulge in corrupt practices and avoid being manipulated or used. But, if you stay your grounds, mark your boundaries; nothing can be done against you. I can proudly say that my parents, teachers, my mentors and my friends made my who I am today and that’s why It is now the time and would be honored to contribute and give back to my University.
