Under the facility of Wellbeing Centre (WBC), Trauma Therapy Unit (TTU) of Bahria University present consultancy and expertise to manage and provide intervention for all types of trauma’s; that includes personal and collective trauma.

 

The panel of consultants are trained and specialized in “Eidetic Model of Trauma Therapy” from Eidetic Psychology Solutions, Ireland under the supervision of Mr. Akhtar Ali Syed, Principal Clinical Psychologist, Brothers of Charity Services, Waterford, Ireland and Director Eidetic Psychology Solutions, Ireland.

 

After initial screening from WBC, the cases will be forwarded to TTU, where compete care and intervention will be implemented. This type of specialized and focused treatment and handling of trauma cases is not prominently evident in Pakistan as yet, So WBC (BUIC) has taken the initiative of launching the said domain.

 

Major Symptoms:

  • Overwhelming fear
  • Nightmares
  • Forgetfulness
  • Confusion
  • Mood swings
  • Avoidance of activities or places that trigger memories of the event
  • Social isolation and withdrawal
  • Lack of interest in previously-enjoyable activities
  • Tremendous fatigue and exhaustion
  • Insomnia
  • Changes in sleeping and eating patterns
  • Irritability
  • Anger outbursts

Eidetic therapy is a quick and short term mode of intervention that generates change by using precise modalities that promote insight and positive growth. Through this therapy the person gains access to inner strengths and resources through the eidetic method, troublesome issues are effectively repaired and the experience of health is regained and well-being is restored.
