Students of the Literary and Debates Club at Bahria University Islamabad have organized a moderated forum for Women’s Day on the 7th of March, 2011. The topic for the session intended is, ‘Frailty Thy Name is Woman?’ The students believe that the International Women’s Day needs to be celebrated as the struggle for women’s rights in the economic, social, political, and cultural domain is necessary to reaffirm women’s solidarity in the struggle for peace; and to show what women have achieved.
The event has a prestigious panel of guest speakers who will enlighten students with their vast knowledge and experience. , Samar Minallah (Documentary Film Maker), Nousheen Abbas (Journalist) Tahira Abdullah (Human Right Activist), Nighar Nazhar(Cartoonist), Jackie Wolf (German Exchange Student) are to preside the session.
The main motive behind such interactive sessions is to provide students with opportunities that act as benefit of substantial academic pathways, resulting in improved public speaking, persuasion and argument skills. This session would help nurture their academic stimulus for the future, as the esteemed speakers are vastly talented and their contribution will be valuable.
