An initiative has been taken by our students to start a community project by the name of ‘PEACE’ which stands for ‘Psycho-social, Emotional and Cognitive Empowerment’ for the neglected children. It is being done in collaboration with Sweet Homes. The aim of this project is to emancipate the neglected children so that with a sound mind they can prove themselves to be prolific members of our society. It involves making the children realize their inner potentials and channeling those abilities to making them psychologically sound and self-sufficing individuals. Counseling and support is also provided to the children who are shown to have vulnerable states due to impact of terrorism on their households. Also intellectual assessment is being carried out to identify gifted children so that adequate resources can be provided to groom them so they can maximize their capabilities. This project has been divided into three phases, of which phase one nears completion.
