A Message from the Dean
Welcome to the Bahria University Law School (BULS)! We are a unique legal community using Law as a tool to improve human life with. Let me introduce you to the BULS.
After you have become part of the community, soon you will realize that the driving force behind the BULS is our notable faculty coming from highly reputable universities across the globe. They specialize in diverse areas of Law, such as – Human Rights, Intellectual Property, International Humanitarian Law, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Sharia and Law, Corporate and Banking Law, International and Maritime Law, Environmental Law, Civil and Criminal Law, and so on. Internationally renowned legal professionals – Professor of Practice – are also engaged to share their rich legal experience with our students.
Corporate Advisory Committee works hand in hand with the faculty to help connect our students with legal profession, academia, and research. The Committee is comprised of the country’s renowned scholarship committed to the cause of legal education by advising modern teaching and research trends in the discipline of Law and Jurisprudence to our statutory bodies.
The Law School is the pioneer of Maritime Law in Pakistan and the region. We are considered as the cradle of International and Maritime Law. Our programmes have attracted international students from many jurisdictions including citizens of the educationally and technologically advanced nations.
BULS is committed to instill criticality in its students. They are enabled to see easily what can’t be seen by others. We enable our graduates to pose a simple question of ‘why’ to the existence of any fact. We strongly believe that this fundamental and lifelong skill is pivotal to the discovery and invention of new knowledge. We are certain that by inculcating critical thinking in graduates not only they achieve their goals but also help others to meet their targets.
When you study at BULS, you will have an opportunity to join our student body strongly committed to the studying of Law, developing life-long friendships and professional relationships. There are registered societies for our students to participate in and whereby they are engaged with their peers to share and test their knowledge and skills. Each year, the Law Moot Society organizes and participates in national and international moot competitions. Our students have won many national and international moot competitions. There is a mandatory part of doing internship as well. BULS sends its students to renowned chambers for internship to learn from the real-life case studies – Law in Courts.
BULS is very much keen and serious about innovative ideas. Each year our students bring fresh ideas and energy to the Law School. They are poked and provoked to share their ideas with their teachers and peers in classrooms, seminars, workshops, conferences, and symposiums. Our learning environment is designed in a way to further refine their thinking and ideas.
The Law School strives to contribute significant original knowledge in almost all the areas of Law and Jurisprudence and their intersections with other disciplines. All efforts are made to equip students with the latest research skills applying doctrinal and non-doctrinal research methodology in their respective dissertations and assignments. They are well-trained to climb up efficiently the steep curve of research for introducing new knowledge in their respective areas of interest.
One of the striking features of BULS is its interdisciplinary character. We believe that all facts – social or natural – are situated having roots penetrating across all disciplines. Here at BULS we encourage interdisciplinarity. Since all facts are situated somewhere, hence it is imperative to know their exact coordinates for precision and accuracy. We train our graduates to focus on the intersections of two or more disciplines to describe, critique, and evaluate any legal provisions considering some pertinent legal principles, doctrines, and/or standards.
It is hoped you get more information from the BU Law School website. Should you need additional information, why don’t try to pop in and see us in person! We are here to show you how high our students and alumni talk about their experience at BULS. All of us look forward to meeting you.
