Muhammad Abubakar Yamin is Senior Lecturer at Department of Computer Engineering, Bahria University Islamabad. Abubakar Yamin is graduate of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Abbottabad in 2011.He passed his undergraduate degree with distinction and received campus silver medal. He received his MS (Computer Engineering) Degree from College of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, National University of Sciences & Technology Islamabad in 2013. He received Scholarship and fee waiver in his graduate & post graduate studies. His area of research interest includes image processing, pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, computer vision, medical image processing systems and digital system. Abubakar has published 4 conference papers and 1 journal paper. He received best research paper award in 2013 International Conference on Imaging System and Techniques Beijing.

Funded Research Project

Automated Diagnosis of Paralytic Strabismus using Computer Aided Diagnosis.

A part of ICTRND funded project which is a telemedicine system for tele-screening of DR with capabilities of self-diagnosis, real time access to data from rural areas, assignment of ophthalmologist for expert opinion and management of a national database for regular monitoring. Responsible for the development of machine learning module of the this part of system and was sole researcher of this part of system. The project is implemented successfully and operational in AFIO, Rawalpindi.

Wireless Human Detection Robotic Car

An ICTRND funded Final year project supervised by Abubakar Yamin in 2015. This wireless robotic car is equipped with human and hurdle detection sensors, which can sense the presence of human in disastrous areas and send back the information of coordinates of location to operator using GPS module. Prototype of this project has successfully been implemented and tested.
