MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

PhD Management Sciences

  • 17.5/18 years of education (as applicable to the particular PG Programme) with Masters/MS/ MPhil/equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 (semester system) or 60% marks (only where CGPA is not given/available).
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (Subject Test), passed with minimum 60% marks, or BU Admission Test (70% passing marks). Result be submitted at the time of application. A statement of purpose (Maximum 2,000 words) to be evaluated by the Admission Committee.
  • HEC’s attestation on the candidate’s local degrees (on the back of the original degrees). HEC’s equivalency certificate for the candidate’s foreign degrees.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD Economics

  • MS/ M-Phil economics degree (17.5/18 years of education) with consistently good academic record and minimum of 60% marks in the annual system or CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.00 in the semester system.
  • A minimum of 60% marks in the GAT- subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS). All candidates seeking admission to the PhD program are required to provide the GAT-Subject score. Or Candidates must have atleast 70% score in university based subject test.   
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

ENGINEERING SCIENCES

PhD (CS, EE)(3 years)

  • 18 Years Education in the relevant discipline with minimum CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 60% marks.
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (Subject Test) passed with minimum 60% marks or BU Admission Test with 70% Marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD Software Engineering

  • 18 Years of education (MS/MPhil/equivalent) in the relevant discipline from an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 (Semester System) or 60% marks (Annual System). HEC’s Equivalence Certificate is mandatory for the candidates with foreign degree.
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test) with 60% marks or GRE (Subject Test) with minimum 60% percentile score in the relevant computing domain (Computer Science/Software Engineering/IT) OR University Based Test conducted for Software Engineering with Minimum 70% marks. Result has to be submitted at the time of admission.
  • Applicants must submit HEC attested/verified copies of academic degrees/transcripts/certificates.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD Computer Engineering

  • 18 year of education (MS/MPHIL/equivalent degree) in relevant discipline form an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 (semester system) or 60% marks (annual system).HEC’s Attestation is required for all local degrees (on the back of original degree. HEC’s equivalent certificate would be required for the candidate with foreign degree.
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (Subject Test) passed with minimum 60% marks or BU Admission Test with 70% Marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD (Mathematics)

  • 18 year of education (MS/MPhil/equivalent degree) in Mathematics from an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 (semester system) or 60% marks (annual system).
  • GAT (Mathematics)/GRE (Mathematics) with minimum 60% marks, or University Based Test passed with minimum 70% marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

EARTH & ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

PhD Geology

  • Applicants should have MS (minimum education of 18 or 17.5 years) in Geological/Geophysical/Environmental Sciences.
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.0 in the semester system or 60% marks in the annual system is mandatory.
  • Certificate of NTS-GAT (subject) or GRE (subject) with minimum score of 60% or Departmental Test with minimum score of 70%.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD Environmental Sciences

  • 17.5 / 18 years of education in Environmental Sciences/Natural Sciences,
  • Minimum CGPA 3.0 in Semester System, 60% marks in Annual system, 60% GAT Subject or 70% University test.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

PhD International Relations

  • Candidates  must  hold  18  years  of  education  from  a  recognized  university with a minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0 (Semester System) or 60% (first division) in annual system. NAT – GAT (Subject test) or GRE (Subject Test) passed with minimum 60% Marks or BU Admission Test with 70% Marks.
  • A statement of Purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PROFESSIONAL PSYCHOLOGY

PhD Clinical Psychology (2 years /3 years)

  • Minimum 18 years of education in Clinical Psychology or relevant field of Psychology including clinical internship and course contents
  •  Minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (semester system) or 60% (First Division) in annual system.
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (Subject Test) passed with minimum 60% marks or BU Admission Test with 70% Marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

PhD Organizational Psychology

  • Minimum 18 years of education in relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks (in annual system) or CGPA 3.0/4.0 (in semester system).
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (Subject Test) passed with minimum 60% marks or BU Admission Test with 70% Marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.

MEDIA STUDIES

PhD Media Studies

  • 18 year of education (MS/MPhil/equivalent degree) in relevant discipline from an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 (semester system) or 60% marks (Only where CGPA is not given/available).
  • NTS-GAT (Subject Test), or GRE (subject test), passed with minimum 60% marks or BU Admission Test (70 marks passing marks).
  • HEC equivalency certificate for the candidates will be required.
  • HEC’s attestation on the candidate’s local degrees (on the back of the original degree).
  • A statement of purpose (Maximum 2,000 words) to be evaluated by the Admission Committee.

LAW

PhD Law

  • LLM degree from an HEC recognized university with a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4.0 (semester system) or 60% marks (annual system). HEC’s equivalency certificate is required for LLM degree from foreign university. NTS-GAT (Subject test) or GRE (Subject test) with minimum 60% marks or BU Computer based test with minimum 70% marks.
  • A statement of purpose of 2000 words shall also be submitted by the PhD candidate.
