Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics

Objectives of the Programme:

The program aims:

  • Training students to assess, plan, and implement medical nutrition therapies for patients with various health conditions.
  • Providing in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology related to nutrition and dietetics.
  • Equipping students to design community nutrition and dietetics programs and address food security issues.
  • Fostering skills in evidence-based research, food product development, and quality control.
  • Developing ethical, leadership, and communication skills for careers in dietetics, sports nutrition, and consulting.

Outcomes of the Programme:

By the end of a degree in BS Human Nutrition & Dietetics, a graduate shall be able to:

  1. Demonstrate scientific knowledge in Human Nutrition, metabolism, and dietetics to assess nutritional status and develop appropriate dietary plans for individuals and communities.
  2. Apply evidence-based practices to manage clinical nutrition therapy for various diseases and health conditions in clinical and public health settings.
  3. Conduct research and critically analyze data related to nutrition, health, and dietary interventions to promote evidence-based decision making.
  4. Communicate effectively and ethically with diverse populations, providing nutrition education, counseling, and health promotion in professional and interdisciplinary environments.

Admission Criteria:

  • Candidates having 45% marks or above in intermediate science (premedical/ pre-engineering) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply and all candidates seeking admission are required to appear in entrance test which will be conducted by Bahria University on particular time and date.
